Treeless peaks with wide, panoramic views are the trademark of the Rhön hills, the ‘land of endless horizons’. The Hochrhöner Trail climbs Mount Wasserkuppe, Mount Kreuzberg and Mount Ellenbogen – the highest elevations in the Rhön hills.
Tip: Mount Wasserkuppe
At 950m above sea level, Mount Wasserkuppe is the highest and best known peak in the Rhön hills. It attracts visitors from far and wide, whatever the season: for sledding, snowboarding, snowkiting and downhill or cross-country skiing in winter, for walking and tobogganing in summer.
