Unbeatable location, infrastructure and transport links: Europe's most modern and architecturally ambitious exhibition and convention centre opened in Stuttgart in autumn 2007.
The new Stuttgart exhibition centre is the showroom for Baden-Württemberg's export-oriented economy. 'At the heart of the market', it brings together supply and demand under one roof and has a strong focus on service. It hosts approximately 40 of its own trade fairs and exhibitions every year, plus around 20 guest events as well as conventions, conferences, company presentations and other events.
The highlights of the Stuttgart trade fair calendar are R+T (the leading international trade fair for roller shutters, doors, gates and sun protection systems), AMB (metalworking trade fair), CMT (Europe's largest public exhibition for the leisure and tourism industry), Intervitis Interfructa (wine and fruit juice production), Intergastra, Interbad and the Retro Classics car show. Other guest trade fairs include Motek, Control, Blechexpo, Medtec, LogiMAT and the Automotive Engine Expo.
Since its new premises opened in 2007, Stuttgart Exhibition Centre has seen revenue and visitor numbers double. It also ranks no. 1 in Germany in terms of occupancy rate and eco-friendliness. More than half of the site is green space, and the solar panels on the hall roofs and the Bosch car park above the A8 autobahn generate electricity for 1,350 households.

Even if you are not a automobile junkie, the Mercedes Museum is a fascinating drive through 125 years of automotive history intertwined with all the key historical events that have marked the evolution of the world’s great car. The museum has curated a great gallery of pictures of key events that have shaped the history of the world that mark the evolution of the car that includes poignant memories like people having a picnic by the autobahn in the 60’s or the empty autobahns of the winter of 1973 when due to oil shortages , a car free Sunday ( 5 of them) was imposed- the images haunt you for hours after you have left the museum. Then there are the stars of the show to say hello to- from Gottlieb Daimler’s motorized carriage, the world’s first 4 wheeled auto mobile to the ‘Gullwing’, the dream car of the 1950’s- the 300 SL Coupe to the machine that set the standard for racing cars: the Mercedes Benz W196 2.5 litre that then world champion, Juan Manuel Fangio powered to victory in the 1954 Formula One race in Reims Combined with the stunning architecture, the Mercedes Benz Museum is a great afternoon for people of all ages and definitely a must-see when visiting Germany.مواصلة القراءة »
