The Diemel Cycle Route brings history to life along the way, taking cyclists on a journey all the way back to the Bronze Age. Not to mention all the picturesque nature and pretty Old Towns along the way.

Shortly after the route starts in Willingen, cyclists will be able to spot Lake Diemelsee, which provides a stunning backdrop for the riverside cycle path with its surrounding hillsides. The next stop is the little town of Marsberg, where the Medieval Old Town is a highlight. The route then proceeds through the Orpe Valley, which is home to no end of mills, to Wrexen and into the old trading town of Warburg. In Liebenau, well-preserved fossils act as a window onto times gone by. And we mustn't forget the castles along the route, including the Diemel Valley's Trendelburg Castle, the moated castle at Wülmersen and Krukenburg Castle. The route then comes to its end in Bad Karlshafen on the River Weser.
