Surrounded by water and known for its historical market gardens, the UNESCO World Heritage town of Bamberg in Bavaria is hosting the Regional Garden Show from 26 April to 7 October 2012. The show's five 'garden islands' each have a different horticultural or conservation theme. In Bamberg's newly designed park there is a 1.2km fish ladder that makes the river Regnitz accessible to fish again, and a pyramid meadow affording glorious views.
