The theme at the heart of the European Music Festival in Passau is 'Welten treffen, Menschen entdecken' (meeting worlds and discovering people). To mark the 60th anniversary of the festival, acclaimed artists from the Danube region are presenting music, theatre, films, talks, exhibitions and nature-themed walks in East Bavaria, Upper Austria and Bohemia in the Czech Republic from 29 June to 29 July 2012.
