phæno Science Centre Wolfsburg

The phæno Science Centre in Wolfsburg has more than 350 phenomena that demonstrate just how exciting science and technology can be. Every single visitor is guaranteed to discover something new at this one-of-a-kind centre for experimentation.

The building's architecture is just as incredible as the exhibition! Designed by star architect Zaha Hadid, it reflects the structure of human knowledge – an ever-changing landscape full of craters, terraces and plateaus. The lack of strict paths allows visitors to wander from one scientific phenomenon to the next, stumbling upon things that fascinate, amaze and astound them along the way.

This exciting home of extraordinary phenomena is great fun but it's so much more than that. It also explains why our hairs stand on end, why soap bubbles float and plenty more. And the best part is that visitors are asked to get involved in all the action and influence what happens, giving rise to unexpected moments that are sure to surprise and puzzle people. The exhibition is complemented by shows, interactive labs and lectures. There is also no end of extras aimed at school groups and families. Opening times: Tuesday to Friday: 9 am–5 pm, Saturday, Sunday and public holidays: 10 am–6 pm
