As if it were yesterday - Luther's birthplace in Eisleben, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996, tells the tale of the Reformer who was born there on November 10, 1483. Other notable exhibits are portraits of Luther, Melanchthon and other contemporaries.

Lutherstuben: Cheers!
The "Lutherstuben" in Hotel Eisenacher Hof reflects the cuisine of the late Middle Ages. What kinds of food and drinks were served then? See for yourself in a typical setting, lit by hundreds of candles, with straw on the ground, accompanied by courtly dance and period toasts.

In a specially built rotunda, the artist Yadegar Asisi created an exceptionally detailed, life-sized panorama picture that brings the historic events of the Reformation to life in a splendidly rich way. Three special exhibitions in Berlin, Eisenach and Wittenberg illustrate the impact the Reformation had on its contemporaries. In Berlin, the exhibit, "The Lutheran Effect," which opened April 12, demonstrates how ways of thinking and culture have changed in Europe and the rest of the world.
