X8 Barbarossa Trail – works of art along the Ars Natura

The picturesque 'Ars Natura' paths bring an artistic perspective to the Barbarossa Trail in the verdant heartland of Germany. Walkers will discover 200 artworks with titles such as Zuneigung (fondness) and Naturgespräch (conversation with nature).

    Tip

Mea Culpa by artist Hans-Joachim Bauer, Felsberg
This installation is both a stylised cross and a kneeling figure with outstretched arms asking for forgiveness. It seems to want to take the landscape into its arms – a conciliatory gesture in light of the Christian principle "replenish the earth, and subdue it", an acknowledgement of guilt with the promise to redeem oneself?
