The Palmengarten Botanical Gardens are a verdant oasis amid the urban landscape of Frankfurt. Here you can find peace and tranquillity at the heart of the city, no matter whether you're looking round one of the many greenhouses or relaxing on the lawns.

A part of the gardens' extensive orchid collection is on display until 1 April 2012. Representatives from the Association of German Orchid Growers (VDOB) will also be selling new and established varieties for anyone wishing to take one of these beautiful plants home.
