Bremen Art Hall

The Bremen Art Hall is one of Germany's foremost art museums, which hosts temporary exhibitions that are very highly regarded. The museum is located within the ramparts, just a stone's throw away from Bremen's Old Town.

The collections offer an impressive overview of European art and international Modernism, encompassing paintings, sculptures, drawings, prints and media art from the Renaissance to the present day. The masterpieces on display here cover 600 years of art history. The Picture Gallery is a special attraction, boasting more than 220,000 sketches and prints that make this one of the most significant collections of graphic art in the whole of Europe.

The French and German paintings from the 19th and 20th centuries make for another exciting museum highlight. The regular special exhibitions, on topics including icons, are nothing short of impressive and the same can be said of the displays on Impressionist artists such as Monet and Cézanne or paintings by Corinth, Liebermann and Paula Modersohn-Becker. The Art Hall also organises special programmes for families and children as well as offering guided tours and arranging discussions about art. Opening times: Wednesday to Sunday: 10 am–6 pm, Tuesday 10 am–9 pm
