Looking for an alternative to a quiet New Year's Eve? Then Berlin is the perfect place to be. Join a million others for an amazing night in the German capital, and make it one New Year's Eve that you'll never forget.
New Year's Eve only comes round once a year, and there's no better place to celebrate it than at the world's biggest open-air New Year's Eve party in the heart of Berlin. All night long, over a million people join in the fun on the party avenue between the Victory Column and the Brandenburg Gate. There's dancing in the side streets, entertainment by top international stars and incredible laser and light animations all over the sky. Foods from around the world add to the party atmosphere, then when the countdown to midnight begins, anticipation levels turn stratospheric. Nothing can beat being part of the build-up to the mega fireworks that light up the Berlin skyline, except perhaps the post-midnight partying that continues till dawn. If that all sounds a bit too claustrophobic, Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg both offer fabulous views across Berlin, not to mention a slight head start after midnight on the revellers (those with any energy left) who will be streaming into the many pubs, clubs and bars to party until dawn. Berliners have never known the meaning of closing time – and especially not on this night of nights.
