Millers’ Trail along the Wiehengebirge - From mill to mill through the Osnabrücker Land region

The Millers’ Trail along the Wiehengebirge hills takes in nine watermills and two windmills. Some of them have been restored and are now working again; others have been converted.

Tip: Alte St. Alexanderkirche

According to legend, Charlemagne built this church on the site of an ancient pagan temple after his victory over the Saxon leader Widukind. It is one of the oldest churches in the diocese of Osnabrück. The boulder among the church’s foundations was part of the ancient pagan temple.
