North Sea flood exhibitions

On the night of 16 to 17 February 1962, hurricane Vincinette caused devastating floods to the coastal areas along the North Sea and Wadden Sea, taking the lives of more than 300 people. To mark 50 years since this tragic night, numerous special exhibitions are being held at locations along the North Sea coast.

A touring exhibition organised by the Sturmflutenwelt Blanker Hans discovery centre in Büsum debuts at the Kreishaus in Heide. The Nordsee Museum at the Ludwig Nissen House in Husum, the BallinStadt Emigration Museum in Hamburg and many other venues are also commemorating the event with special exhibitions in the coming weeks.
