On 27 February 2012, the International President of the Lions Club, Dr Wing-Kun Tam, visited the Meissen Porcelain Manufactory in Saxony to support the Meissen brand in China.
Porcelain made the town of Meissen famous around the world and the Meissen manufactory can look back on a long history. Its famous swan service celebrates its 275th anniversary this year. The history of porcelain is documented at the Museum of MEISSEN® Art, where you can also currently see the 'All nations are welcome' exhibition.
The Saxon Wine Route, which runs through the small winegrowing region of Saxony, also passes through the town of Meissen.
