Anniversary in Potsdam

Frederick the Great always felt rather more at home in the city of Potsdam than in Berlin, where he was born. The state capital of Brandenburg was where he built his summer residence Sanssouci Palace, now part of a UNESCO World Heritage site. This year, it will be 300 years since the birth of 'Old Fritz', and it is not only the palace in Potsdam that has been beautifully restored to celebrate the occasion. Many other events will also take place throughout the year in Brandenburg to commemorate the anniversary.
