A medieval beauty in Naumburg

The statue of Uta of Naumburg, a major work of the German gothic style, belongs to an ensemble of twelve sculptures in Naumburg Cathedral's west chancel. Depicted wearing a crown, Uta is considered one of the most beautiful women of the Middle Ages and many girls have been named after her. Until 18 March 2012, visitors have the opportunity to see the famous statue and learn about its history at the fourth Uta Meeting (Uta-Treffen) in Saxony-Anhalt.
