Sand sculptures on Germany's coast

Every summer, the young and young-at-heart can't resist building sandcastles on the beaches beside the North Sea and Baltic Sea. But sand art is also a highly skilled craft and many seaside towns host events and festivals where artists from all over the world create masterpieces out of sand.

One such example is 'Warnemünder Sandwelt' in the resort of Warnemünde, which this year has a historical Hanseatic theme. From 23 April there will also be guided tours of the open-air exhibition.
