Europe's top young vintner from Saxony

The new generation of vintners in the Saxony wine region is leading the way in Europe. The German Wine Institute has announced that the new 2012 'European Wine Champion' comes from Saxony. Twenty-four-year-old Matthias Schuh from the Walter Schuh winery in Sörnewitz near Meissen was able to fend off 63 competitors from 14 European countries to win the competition organised by the network of European vinicultural colleges. As a member of 'Generation Riesling', Schuh is an ambassador for new German wines.
