Federal Association of the German Tourism Industry (BTW)

Commitment for mobility and travel

The Federal Association of the German Tourism Industry (BTW) represents the interests of the tourism industry in Germany. Its members include more than 40 large companies and major associations from all sectors of the tourism industry.

The BTW's heterogeneous structure reflects the heterogeneous structure of the tourism industry, with its many different sectors. Transport providers such as Lufthansa, Deutsche Bahn and the main German airports count among the BTW's members, as do hotel chains, the largest German tour operators, the German Automobile Association (ADAC), representatives of tourism marketing organisations and universities that offer tourism-related courses. Other members include tourist associations such as the German Hotel and Restaurant Association (DEHOGA), the German Travel Association (DRV), the German Airline Association (BDF), the International Coach Tourism Federation (RDA), the German International Hotel Association (IHA) and the German Business Travel Association (VDR). An overview of the association's members can be found at http://btw.de/die-mitglieder/uebersicht/.

The BTW aims to improve the general conditions and locational factors of tourism in Germany at both national and European level. National and EU policy in areas such as tax, finance, transport, the environment and social and foreign affairs all play a significant role in this work. The tourism summit hosted by the BTW is one of the largest forums for the industry in Germany. BTW dinner talks, which are organised in cooperation with the trade fair company Messe Berlin, enable the BTW to maintain a presence in various German towns, cities and regions.
