The history of this house in the Saxony town of Zwickau, in which Robert Schumann was born in 1810, stretches back as far as the 15th century.
Today it contains a museum of eight rooms displaying the world's largest exhibition on the life and legacy of the composer and his wife – the brilliant pianist Clara Wieck. These include the memorial room that features precious items of furniture and musical instruments from the couple's estate. Chamber concerts and talks are regularly held in the concert hall on the ground floor.
