You know that the wild garlic season has started in Germany when the forests are filled with its unmistakable smell. This is the time of year when the annual Wild Garlic Festival takes place at Lorch Abbey in the Rheingau wine region. It provides information on wild garlic and other herbs and medicinal plants and the benefits they have for our health. The festival takes place on 29 April 2012 in the abbey courtyard and also features a herb and flower market, guided tours, talks and wild garlic specialities.
