2 days: Freiburg Gourmet Package - from € 190
Freiburg´s culinary delights
Freiburg was founded by the Dukes of Zähringen in 1120, and the layout of streets and squares of the rapidly prospering metropolis is still impressively reflected in today’s cityscape. In 1368 Freiburg came under the Habsburgs – remaining, with but brief interruptions, the capital of Austria’s Vorderösterreich until the beginning of the 19th century.
The medieval Old Quarter with its architectural treasures, colorful marketplace, twisting narrow lanes and little “waterways” running through the streets picturesquely circles the magnificent Gothic Cathedral. Its unique 381-foot-high tower ranks among the masterworks of Gothic architecture, enhancing Freiburg’s incomparable silhouette. It took over 300 years to build this Gothic masterpiece, which was completed in 1513, which takes pride of place as Freiburg's main landmark.
Includes:
  • 2 nights in a 4**** hotel with breakfast
  • Welcoming cocktail
  • Full breakfast buffet with organic products
  • Typical Black Forest style meal
  • 4 course gourmet menu
  • Guided city tour
Reduction for children:
children up to 12 years of age stay for free, excluding menu, in parents' bedroom.
Bookable all year round.

KölnTourismus offers digital guided tours for individualists. Besides a considerable range of guided tours, the Cologne Tourist Board offers now an option for individual travellers who prefer to explore the city on their own instead of joining a group. Using a small hand computer, you can enjoy an audio-visual walking tour of Cologne and discover the most important sights between the Cathedral and Heumarkt square. With spoken commentary and corresponding images, the well-elaborated route guides you to numerous fountains, monuments and buildings.

The iGuide is very easy to handle. Just a few buttons allow you a maximum of options. Pressing a button you may abbreviate operating processes, interrupt your tour or comments and return to particularly attractive sights - just as you please. Visitors are provided with a convenient city map that shows the walking route with individual sights. As from now the iGuide is available in English or German. Further languages are being provided for in the next year.
