Video installation „Hundertwasser Experience“

Hundertwasser Experience is the name of the new masterpiece by the Italian "Immersive Art Factory" led by artist Gianfranco Iannuzzi. The artists have transformed the former machine hall at the new art centre in Leipzig's West into a colourful, captivating, vibrant immersive Hundertwasser world.

Gianfranco Iannuzzi’s latest installation is a free interpretation of the work by the Viennese painter and architect Friedensreich Hundertwasser. For this he has transformed the former machine hall at the new art centre in Leipzig West into a colourful, captivating, vibrant immersive Hundertwasser world.

Hundertwasser’s works, often a criticism of architectural and human enforced conformity, are being reassembled and re-edited using computer graphics and video animation. Animated using state-of-the-art software, illustrated acoustically by Luca Longobardi’s music and planned according to meticulous scripts, a skilful multimedia show is created where the space and work, i.e. the shell and contents, fuse together into a unique symbiosis. The result is projected onto the floor and walls in the large Kunstkraftwerk hall, creating a dynamic fresco of shapes and colours. Visitors don’t just stand in front of it like in a museum but walk right through these virtual landscapes becoming part of the show, interacting with the spectacle that they are immersed in.
‘‘I want to take audiences out of their classic reception posture by bringing them to the heart of the scene, as on a huge stage where they become part of the show,” explains the artist, who has been among the pioneers of the immersive art genre since the 1980s.
