Schloss Korff is an unpretentious neo-classical residence with two storeys, a low hip roof and a central balcony. It is one part of the Harkotten House ensemble. The building is reflected in the still waters of the circular pond that forms part of the landscaped grounds and is surrounded by trees. A bed of flowers has been laid out on a small round hill between the pond and the residence. The edges of the pond are lined with reeds.

Teuto-Ems Cross-Border Route – for history buffs and food lovers

This premium route, awarded four stars by the German Cyclists' Federation (ADFC), crosses historical and culinary borders more than a dozen times. It follows ancient trading routes and smugglers' trails through idyllic scenery.

The Teuto-Ems Cross-Border Route alternates between the Münsterland, Osnabrücker Land and East Westphalia-Lippe regions. It runs mainly on level paths through fields and meadows, offering unobstructed views of the beautiful Teutoburg Forest. Different regional cuisines are also a hallmark of the route: asparagus is served in and around Füchtorf and Glandorf in early summer, and is served with succulent ham in Versmold. The many industrial monuments, castles and palaces along the route are also well worth seeing, such as Burg Ravensberg, which dates back 900 years. In Warendorf, a town renowned for its horses, you can swap one kind of saddle for another.

Terrain: Mainly flat on quiet roads, easily manageable with children, numerous places to take breaks, passes historical sites such as castles, palaces and old villages.

Scenery: The route passes through woodland, fields and meadows alongside Teutoburg Forest and the river Ems. The history of the region's borders is a central theme on the route.
