Tip
Uhuklippen, rocky peaks and other volcanic formations, forest near Grebenhain
The forest near Grebenhain contains striking basalt massifs and traces of past volcanic activity. Basalt formations with names such as Teufelskanzel (devil's pulpit), Nonnenstein (nun's stone) and Uhuklippen (eagle owl rocks) gave rise to many legends. The Uhuklippen natural monument is one of the largest basalt formations in the Vogelsberg hills.
