A celebration of cinema at the 67th Berlinale film festival

This year's Berlinale, one of the highlights of the year for the international film industry, takes place from 9 to 19 February in Berlin. On the guest list are leading lights from the world of film, from actors, directors and producers to up-and-coming talents.

The International Berlin Film Festival, known as the Berlinale, is one of the most important events for the international film industry and every year attracts around 350,000 cinemagoers. Glamour, business and cinematic craft are all on the agenda at this annual extravaganza in the heart of Berlin. The official programme for 2017 features more than 400 premieres from around the world. This year, around 20 films are competing for the coveted Golden Bear, which is awarded to the best film in the festival's international category.

The Berlinale programme

The Berlinale programme offers an exciting mix of genres and film formats, including cinema for younger audiences, independent and arthouse movies, new discoveries and new techniques in film production. Whether you're a true film geek or you simply like going to the movies, the Berlinale will have something for you.

Psst! The programme is still a secret but is being revealed on the afternoon of 31 January. You can secure your tickets here from 6 February. Using the dedicated Berlinale app (Android & iOS) you can also put together your own personal programme and keep up to date with what's going on at the festival during your stay in Berlin.
