Germany's capital provides the backdrop for the 24th edition of the Berlin Fairytale Festival, running from 7 to 24 November 2013. This year's 800 or so events are united by the theme 'around the world in 18 days' and will be focusing on fairytales and fables from the French-speaking world. In a total of 300 venues in and around Berlin, including libraries, schools, concert halls and theatres, these wide-ranging examples of francophone culture will charm audiences young and old. This fantasy-fuelled adventure takes in Africa, the Arab world and North America.
And if that leaves you wanting more, you can follow the trail of the Brothers Grimm along the 600km German Fairytale Route.
