From 11 November 2013 the heritage-listed Kulturbrauerei in Berlin will be home to a new museum. Its vivid permanent exhibition will centre on everyday life in the former East Germany and will provide authentic insights into German history. The museum will also be hosting informative special exhibitions and events focusing on the history, politics and culture of East Germany.
Throughout this network of buildings, which until 1967 served as a brewery, there is a buzzing cultural scene emerging. The Kulturbrauerei provides a striking backdrop for events, theatre, a cinema, nightclubs and inviting restaurants, all of which encapsulate the capital's cultural diversity.
