On 1 December 2013 Kaiserburg Castle in Nuremberg opens the doors to its permanent exhibition, Emperor-Empire-City. A visit to the imperial double chapel, the main castle building and the Germanic Museum's weapons collection is a great way to learn about history. One particular highlight is the oldest model of the city of Nuremberg. Visitors can also see the wooden model of the Palatine chapel in Aachen and the imperial eagle glass. All computer stations offer features in English and the audio guide that leads you through the exhibition is available in six languages.
If you're in Nuremberg over the festive months, be sure to stop by the famous Christmas market.
