The Festival of Youth took place in Germany exactly a hundred years ago. To mark the occasion, a special exhibition tracing the history of the German Youth Movement opens today at the Germanic National Museum in Nuremberg. Running until 19 January 2014, it uses 400 exhibits including photographs, clothing and audio stations to document the development of the youth movement from its beginnings, through the trials and tribulations of the first half of the 20th century, to the 1960s. The focus is on the customs, changes in direction and visions of earlier generations.
Did you know? There are no fewer than 4,000 museums across Germany offering a wide variety of fascinating exhibitions.
