On Saturday 23 November 2013 Saalburg Roman fort near Bad Homburg will be hosting a very special evening: a journey through history offering a taste of 'Culinaria Romana' – Roman cuisine. As well as sampling wines that were typical of the period, guests will be served dinner comprising several Roman dishes prepared using traditional recipes. This special event will also feature a presentation of historical clothing and a tour of the fort led by a Roman soldier. The festivities draw to an atmospheric close in the flickering light of flaming torches.
Saalburg Fort is located on the Limes, the boundary of the Roman empire and one of Germany's 38 UNESCO World Heritage sites.
