The State Museum of Prehistory in Halle has launched a touring exhibition celebrating the world-famous Nebra Sky Disk. Featuring some 100 exhibits, it will be on display in Osterwieck in the Harz region until 30 March 2014. The exhibition provides a fascinating insight into the world view of man in around 1600 BC and covers various themes such as religion, customs, trade and social order.
If you want to see the original Nebra Sky Disk, which is on UNESCO's Memory of the World Register, you'll need to visit the State Museum of Prehistory in Halle. The museum's collection comprises a staggering 15 million finds.
