For nearly 30 years, the town of Bischofsgrün in the Fichtelgebirge nature park has built probably the largest real snowman in Germany each year on carnival weekend – and this event is always celebrated in the climatic health resort on Carnival Monday. Jakob the giant snowman will be at the centre of the traditional open-air party, which is being held this year on 20 February. Many visitors are expected to attend, along with those who helped build the snowman.
