23 March 2012 marks the start of the spring wine festival in Rheinhessen, at which wine connoisseurs and food lovers can sample the first wine of the new vintage and culinary delights from the region's restaurants. Until 13 May 2012, the festival offers a varied programme featuring a whole host of different events – a great way to savour the joys of the spring between the river Rhine and the rolling hills of the largest German wine region.
