The Nahe wine region

Ever since the days of the Romans, Nahe has been an active winegrowing region. Lush greenery, romantic river valleys and dramatic rock formations characterise the landscape, together with 4,000 hectares of vines. But it is not only the scenery that boasts an impressive variety; the 300 vineyards also make sure there's a wine to suit every taste with dornfelder, riesling and müller-thurgau topping the list of the region's most popular wines.

Active holidaymakers are spoilt for choice too with the Nahe Cycle Route and the Soonwaldsteig walking trail. Those who come looking for peace and quiet will find it in the nearby spa resorts of Bad Kreuznach and Bad Münster.
