The picturesque old quarter of Koblenz, the town where the Rhine and Moselle converge, has 100 festive stalls at its romantic market, which extends from Am Plan and the Church of Our Lady to Jesuitenplatz, Rathausplatz and Münzplatz squares. The Advent calendar is awe-inspiring, made from 24 dormers of the baroque town hall. In the inner courtyard of the town hall the “Christmas-Vocal” open-air concert astounds with Christmas songs from all over the world. Explore the Christmas market for free with guides and set off on a romantic carriage-ride between the Rhein and Mosel with a warming glass of mulled wine. At the Liebfrauenkirche dive into the world of craftsmen, glass blowers, soap makers, artist blacksmiths, wood sculptors and jewellery makers. All of the wares are created before your very eyes. 'Shopping by starlight' gives you the opportunity to shop until midnight. The Forum Confluentes culture centre's newest attraction is a steamboat-themed multimedia exhibition, which takes visitors on a marvellous journey from the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress to the Loreley. Along this journey, you can use the "legend spotlight" to illuminate places featured in the legends of times gone by, and the interactive "castle camera" gives you a glimpse behind the fort's metre-thick walls.
