Serengeti Safari Park in Hodenhagen on Lüneburg Heath is split up into four themed lands – animal world, monkey world, water world and theme park world. In the animal world, you can drive through safari-style in your own car or join a bus tour.
Serengeti Safari Park in Hodenhagen – a great day out for the whole family! The park covers approx. 200 hectares and is divided into several different areas, almost all of which can be explored by car. Around 1,500 animals are free to roam in the large enclosures of the animal world, where you'll come across prides of lions and herds of wildebeest as well as buffaloes, giraffes, tigers and ostriches. Europe's biggest petting zoo, however, which has more than 200 animals, is best explored on foot! Also well worth seeing is the elephant breeding facility, one of the largest in Germany. Another great attraction – especially for kids – is monkey world. Its 200 or so primates represent around 20 species, from lemurs and squirrel monkeys to gorillas and chimpanzees. Whatever you do, make sure you don't miss the feeding of the great apes here in the Amboseli reserve. Serengeti Park, with all its animals, is recognised as a zoological garden and as one of the leading breeders of elephants and white rhinos in Europe. At Serengeti Park, you can also embark on an exciting jungle safari that features a whole host of Hollywood-style special effects.
Serengeti Safari Park offers an adrenaline-packed water ride that is unrivalled in Europe: on the Aqua Safari, starring King Kong, you are taken on a tour in an original Florida airboat. On this action-packed, river-bound trip, you head straight into the lair of the mightiest ape of all. And if that's not enough of an adventure for you, there are more than 40 rides and attractions suitable for all ages at the theme park: from the Ferris wheel and flying elephants to the high ropes course and Top Spin. In the Kinderwelt, for the very smallest guests, there are playgrounds, trampolines, slides and a baby park. And if you don't want to leave, you can stay overnight on the site itself in one of the Serengeti Safari lodges.
