Bremen's Weserburg Museum of Modern Art is located on the river Weser.
Set in four converted warehouses which housed a coffee roastery until 1982, it is Europe's first collectors' museum. With 6,000m² of exhibition space, it is one of the largest museums of modern art in Germany, enjoying great renown around the world since it was founded in 1991. The New Weserburg Museum employs an unusual museum concept and showcases original works by influential contemporary artists.
