Leistikowstrasse memorial and cultural centre

In the summer of 1945 the old rectory in Potsdam was captured by the Soviet military counter-intelligence agency and converted into an interrogation facility.

The prison building, which has largely been preserved intact, documents the injustice perpetrated here on thousands of detainees. The compelling permanent exhibition on the building's past focuses on the fates of those arrested. At various media points former inmates attest to the barbaric conditions and brutal interrogations.
