German Mining Museum, Bochum

The German Mining Museum in Bochum offers an extensive insight into the significance of mineral resources – from prehistoric times to the modern day.

With some 13,000m² of exhibition space above ground and 2.5km of underground tunnels, it is the world's leading museum on mining. The findings of its international research projects are displayed in large temporary exhibitions inside the purpose-built extension, the Black Diamond.

Tuesday-Friday 8.30am-5pm, Saturday, Sunday & public holidays 10am-5pm
