The Mildenberg brickworks centre in Brandenburg is one of the preeminent sites of industrial culture in Europe.
During Germany's industrial heyday in the 19th century the 'brick district' of Zehdenick, the largest in Europe, produced billions of bricks which went on to build Berlin and large parts of the March of Brandenburg. The brickworks centre is always well worth a visit, whether it's for the scenery, the museum, the exciting tours or the different train rides or for amazing events such as the steam show, International Museum Day or the model railway and model car fair.
