This band formed by singer/songwriter Campino (real name: Andreas Frege) are one of Germany's most successful punk rock bands. Their social satire sometimes has traits of cabaret (Eisgekühlter Bommerlunder, Kein Alkohol ist auch keine Lösung).
Die Toten Hosen were founded in Düsseldorf in 1982 and released their first album the following year. Soon their tours took them to France, Spain, the UK, and in the 90s even to Argentina, Canada and the USA, and there were some songs in these countries' languages. In 1990 the band had its first number one in the German album charts with Auf dem Kreuzweg ins Glück, which was followed by seven more number one albums. Die Toten Hosen's greatest hit came in 1996 with the single Zehn kleine Jägermeister.
