Nature and culture in harmony in Bavaria

English Garden, Munich

In 1789 the Palatinate Elector Carl Theodor instructed the American Count Rumford to create a park. Covering an area of 373 hectares in total, the English Garden is one of the most sizeable urban parks in the world, larger than New York's Central Park.

Nymphenburg is a European masterpiece, a story book of Bavarian history and an example of architecture and landscape design in seldom-seen harmony.
