For over 165 years, the small town of Glashütte in the eastern Erzgebirge mountains has been synonymous with the quality, precision and luxury for which German manufacturing is famous. Today, Glashütte is still a thriving watchmaking town, home to renowned manufacturers and a modern watch museum, the only one of its kind in Europe. The museum's multimedia exhibits can be experienced interactively. There is also a 90-minute guided tour through various 'history rooms' that brings the technological development of watchmaking to life.
