Maritim has been playing a decisive role in the development of Germany’s hotel industry since its founding in 1969 and the country’s best known hotel chain now enjoys an international reputation. The comprehensive portfolio includes centrally located city hotels, conveniently located airport hotels, coastal beach resorts, lakeside family hotels, course-adjoining golf hotels and parkland spa hotels. While every property is uniquely individual with its own advantages, they are united under Maritim’s motto of “meetings and accommodation under one roof”. When it comes to event facilities, no other private company in Germany can match Maritim’s collection of congress halls and meeting rooms. Both national and international clients appreciate Maritim’s excellent event infrastructure combined with its wealth of experience planning, organising and managing gatherings of all scales. The elegant accommodation, state of the art event rooms, award winning restaurants, sought-after pubs and comprehensively equipped wellness facilities have made the name “Maritim” synonymous with German hospitality excellence.
As a family owned and run company, Maritim understands the decisive role each and every employee has to play in its ongoing success. The company invests in itself by investing in its staff – with apprenticeships, advanced vocational training and the workplace incentives that keep top people with the company longer.
One of the ingredients for Maritim’s recipe for success is its emphasis on wining and dining. Most hotels have multiple restaurants serving both regional specialties and a wide selection of international favourites. Depending on which hotel they stay in, guests can enjoy Japanese sushi, Arabian maza, Turkish Gözleme or the culinary excellence of an award-winning Michelin star restaurant. Regardless of which hotel, the day always gets off to a perfect start with Maritim’s sumptuous breakfast buffet.
In line with Maritim’s strategic analysis of developing markets, the company is pushing full steam ahead with its international expansion plans. Properties in major European capitals and sought-after holiday destinations around the world are currently being analysed for potential and considered for the portfolio. Maritim continues to plan with innovation, creativity and inexhaustible drive – leading the way from drawing board to reality. The future can begin – Maritim is ready.

“When it comes to children, only the best is good enough,” said Margarete Steiff, founder of the famous toy company. Children around the world love her cuddly stuffed animals with the button in their ear. Our little guests are no less important to us at Maritim and therefore also enjoy a wide range of services. In all Maritim Hotels in Germany, whether in towns or in coastal or mountain resorts, we offer special discounts on room prices for children and put together full holiday programmes, so that our younger guests can look forward to an exciting time. Maritim Holiday Hotels boast well equipped playrooms, promising fun, action, excitement and entertainment. We even offer babysitting services on request. The Maritim Club Hotel on the Baltic Sea, for example, has a year-round children’s club, where children can let off steam taking part in treasure hunts, hotel rallies or craft afternoons while parents relax to a soothing massage. But the Maritim City Hotels also provide plenty of excitement for our younger visitors to Germany. A trip to one of the country’s beautifully landscaped zoos or animal parks will keep the whole family entertained, while Germany’s leisure and adventure parks abound with sheer adventure. While staying at the Maritim Hotel Gelsenkirchen, for example, the ZOOM World of Experience and the Movie Park Germany should not be missed. The Maritim Hotel Ulm is the perfect starting point for a visit to Germany’s first Legoland, with its world made of colourful Lego pieces. The Maritim Hotel Nürnberg (Nuremberg) offers an exciting day out at the Playmobil toy company’s amusement park. An absolute highlight for families is the Black Forest. In the Rust Europapark, the largest amusement park in Germany, the whole of Europe can be “visited” in a single day with its thoroughly entertaining 11 rollercoasters and 13 theme zones. After an unforgettable day on the water coaster and Ferris wheel, it is a pleasure to return to the Maritim Titisee Hotel between the shores of the picturesque (Titisee) lake and the shopping promenade with its world-famous cuckoo clocks.

What do the Taj Mahal and Cologne Cathedral have in common? Both are impressive buildings, massive in size and importance, rich in myths and stories. They are among the most visited attractions, in their respective countries and worldwide, and are both listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. To look out through the window of the Maritim Hotel Köln (Cologne) is to feast the eyes either on the picturesque Rhine, part of the Upper Middle Rhine Valley, also a UNESCO World Heritage site, or Cologne Cathedral, just a short walk from the hotel. Germany boasts no fewer than 33 sites inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Cultural centres that should not be missed include Berlin’s Museum Island with its Pergamon Museum, Altes Museum, National Gallery and Bode Museum. Berlin's two Maritim Hotels will be happy to handle the complete travel arrangements for their guests, including accommodation with breakfast and dinner, city tour and admission to the museums.
In northern Germany, the Hanseatic cities of Bremen and Luebeck boast their own UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Bremen's town hall, which can comfortably be reached from the centrally located Maritim Hotel Bremen in a short time, was built 600 years ago. Meanwhile, the entire Old Town of Luebeck, alive with mediaeval atmosphere, has been deemed worthy of protection. This is the place to sample a particularly sweet speciality – Luebeck marzipan from Niederegger is utterly delicious. It takes just a few miles by car or train to reach the picturesque resort of Travemuende on the Baltic coast, where the Maritim StrandHotel Travemünde stands right on the harbour promenade.
The south of the country is no less rich in traditional treasures: the Episcopal Residence in Wuerzburg is the world’s most extraordinary Baroque palace and is surrounded by magnificent gardens. The Maritim Hotel Würzburg offers a fantastic package, including accommodation, meals, entrance fees and a guided tour of the residence. The UNESCO World Heritage initiative creates a genuine bond between the almost 900 cultural and natural monuments listed and the people that visit them.
Germany has about 500 major shopping centres, some of which are truly spectacular, such as the new “My Zeil” in the banking metropolis of Frankfurt. The capital, Berlin, boasts long-established and internationally renowned department stores such as the “KaDeWe” and the Galeries Lafayette on Friedrichstrasse, just a few metres from the Maritime proArte Hotel Berlin. Their central locations in the heart of Germany’s most famous cities make Maritim Hotels ideal bases for shopping sprees all year round, whether on Maximilianstraße in Munich, on the Hohe Straße in Cologne or Hamburg’s Moenckebergstraße. Then there are the Outlet Centres in southern Germany, with their well known top brands at attractive prices – easily accessible from Maritim Hotels in Wuerzburg and Stuttgart. The dedicated staff at the Maritim Hotel is always happy to offer shopping tips, whether for traditional crafts such as Black Forest cuckoo clocks, sports goods by German brand manufacturers Adidas and Puma, or popular souvenirs such as miniature Cologne Cathedrals. And after strolling through the city, one can look forward to pure indulgence in the hotel’s wellness suite, with its relaxing treatments and massages, before rounding off the day with an array of mouth-watering international dishes for dinner.
