About us

The German National Tourist Board (GNTB) promotes Germany as a travel destination worldwide on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and is funded by the latter on the basis of a resolution passed by the German Bundestag.

Its aim is to strengthen inbound tourism and, in doing so, contribute to the country’s economic value creation through international visitors. To achieve this, the GNTB analyses global and market-specific travel trends, with a particular focus on digital transformation. On this basis, it develops marketing strategies, connects the international travel industry with partners in Germany’s tourism sector, and implements targeted campaigns.

At the heart of its work is the brand profile “Germany simply inspiring”, which serves as a narrative for a service-oriented, high-quality tourism experience. In ensuring Germany’s future as a destination, climate- and resource-friendly, socially responsible, and inclusive offerings form an integral part of the brand’s core.
