Wine in the Upper Middle Rhine Valley

With a history spanning more than 2,000 years, Koblenz – the only city on both the Rhine and Moselle – is one of the oldest settlements in Germany. The surrounding countryside is characterised by its position on the two rivers, by the Rhine and Moselle valleys and by ancient castles, palaces and fortresses. Another distinctive feature are the terraced vineyards, where visitors to Koblenz have the opportunity to meet the vintners, sample wine at winery taverns and take guided tours through the vines. Along the way, they'll discover the ins and outs of how wines are made in the World Heritage Upper Middle Rhine Valley.
