The bizarrely named Kartoffelpuffer Jazz Festival (a kartoffelpuffer is a potato pancake) is taking place for the second time in Erfurt from 25 to 28 January. As the name suggests, the festival at the Moser bar and live music venue in the old quarter combines food & drink and live jazz. In Germany, people tend to associate Erfurt with Martin Luther, medieval architecture and a fabulous cathedral. But it's also impossible to imagine the Erfurt music scene without jazz.
