A survey of Germany's 50 largest towns and cities for the German business magazine WirtschaftsWoche has revealed that Stuttgart comes top of the list of sustainable cities in Germany, ahead of Münster and Freiburg. Comparisons were drawn using 56 indicators divided into six categories. These included energy & transport, the environment, economic sustainability, transparency & civic engagement, and social factors in the form of health and leisure.
