Young Museum Frankfurt am Main

The Young Museum, part of Frankfurt's Historical Museum, has plenty of interactive exhibitions with quirky designs covering a range of topics to delight its young visitors.

The Young Museum in Frankfurt is situated on the banks of the River Main, just a stone's throw away from the Old Town. Visitors are treated to two permanent exhibitions along with special displays that are changed regularly to cover a wide range of topics relevant to our modern society. "Frankfurt Once?" is the name of the permanent exhibition on the history of Frankfurt, which features interactive areas that allow visitors to experience some of the exhibits up close. For example, the museum's youthful visitors can speculate on the stock exchange via a computer game or do some sums on an abacus.

And the "Children's Trail in the Collector Museum" is a permanent feature offering insight into the collections of Frankfurt-based collectors over the past three centuries. Children can pick up a collectors' catalogue free of charge when they arrive at the exhibition. There is space for twelve stickers inside to encourage young visitors to get involved as they walk around. There is no end of workshops and three historical play areas on offer too. Opening times: Tuesday to Friday: 10 am–6 pm, Wednesday: 10 am–9 pm, weekends: 11 am–7 pm
